You can use your favorite type or brand of chocolate chips. I use Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips when making this Frappuccino. To make a mocha syrup similar to the one used in for Starbucks' Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino, simmer equal amounts of strong coffee, cocoa powder and sugar with a pinch of salt and dash of vanilla until it thickens to a chocolate sauce-like consistency. Any brand of chocolate syrup or mocha sauce works. To reduce calories you can use 2% milk or substitute with vegan friendly plant-based options like soy milk, oat milk, coconut milk and almond milk. For an even creamier Frappuccino, you can use half and half, heavy cream or even ice cream. I use whole milk because it makes the Frappuccino taste just right. You can use any other type of similar dark chocolate cookie or chocolate sandwich cookie - just remove any cream filling. The dark cookie part of the regular Oreos is all that is needed to get that delicious cookie flavor. You can also substitute with regular coffee or decaffeinated coffee. While any type of coffee works - my favorite coffee type is bold dark roast because you need the strong coffee flavors to stand up to the other flavors in the drink.
